I’ve never met with Wizkid before – Carter Efe opens up (Video)

In a new interview, Nigerian singer and content creator Carter Efe provides additional insight into his transition from comedy to music.

In an interview with media celebrity Ebuka on channels Television's Rubbin Minds, Carter Efe, who recently released the blockbuster song "Machala," claims that he wrote the song in order to be acknowledged and receive widespread acclaim.

Carter, whose actual name is Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, also acknowledged that, contrary to what his lines in the popular song implied, he did not meet Wizkid in Ghana.

Carter Efe reportedly declared his deepest love for Wizkid despite the fact that his song about him was removed from Spotify and Apple Music, causing it to receive the most trolls on social media.

Carter Efe told Ebuka that when he released Machala, he wanted to be recognized as the singer of a song for Wizkid, but he had no idea it would be as successful as it was.

He continued, "I feel large when I meet people who react with excitement because they know I'm the singer of Machala."

People used to recognize him on the street when he was just concentrating on making skits, but now they go above and above and give him public hugs, he claims.

Carter acknowledged that he usually acknowledges Starboy but declined to comment on whether he contacted Big Wiz after releasing the song.

But he added that since he is aware of Wizzy's character and that he just acted out of love, he does not anticipate a response or acknowledgement from the "Joro" singer.

The musician claimed that despite knowing Wizkid won't respond, he consistently goes to his Instagram DM to praise him for being so responsive.

He added that because the money he is earning through music makes him feel happy, he has begun to be booked for performances and is now a full-time musician.

Carter also disclosed that he is already collaborating with other artists and considering the release of an EP. He claimed to have collaborated on a song with Ceeza Milli, a vocalist.
