Rapper Yung6ix reveals why Rick Ross didn’t acknowledge Nigerian rappers when he came to Nigeria

In a post on social media, US-based Nigerian rapper Onome Onokohwomo, also known by his stage name Yung6ix, explains why well-known American rapper Rick Ross ignored Nigerian rappers when he visited the country.

This was announced by Yung6ix today, August 25, in a post uploaded on his official Instagram page's insta-stories section.

As Rick Ross delighted fans with wonderful moments at his Lagos Concert in April 2022, #rickrossliveinlagos became one of the leading topics on social media.

The fact that Rick Ross visited Nigeria but was unable to recognize the local rappers was one of the highlights of that period of time, though.

Rappers from Nigeria, including Ycee and M.I. Abaga, among others, complained that rappers were absent from Rick Ross's Lagos concert lineup.

Davido, Tiwa Savage, Mayorkun, Buju, and Rema were among the Nigerian artists who performed at the Rick Ross Live in Lagos concert.

A few months later, however, Yung6ix boasted that the reason Rick Ross ignored Nigerian rappers at his concert was because he was the only living Nigerian rapper and was based in the United States, not Nigeria. He added that this may have offended some of his peers, but he didn't care.
